What Is the Best Treatment for ADHD?
ADHD is a neurodivergence, a developmental difference in the way your brain is wired. It’s not that something is wrong with you. You just function differently from neurotypical people, and unfortunately, the world was built for them, not for us. When you're living with ADHD, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, specially if you are a newly diagnosed person.
In this post, I’ll break down the three most effective ways to treat ADHD, starting with the most important one people often skip over: understanding how your brain really works. From lifestyle adaptations and ADHD coaching to medication, you’ll learn how to build a treatment plan that turns ADHD from a struggle into a strength.
1. Understanding Your ADHD Brain & Adapting Your Lifestyle
This is the most important step in your ADHD journey, and it’s not a quick fix. I know many of you wish there was just a pill that could make everything better, but the truth is: ADHD is not something to “fix.” It’s a different way of being. It’s not a flaw, it’s a different operating system. And the more you understand it, the better your life becomes.
When ADHD goes unmanaged, it can feel exhausting, chaotic, and discouraging. But once you begin to understand how your brain works, what helps you thrive and what holds you back, you’ll start to realize your ADHD isn’t a curse. In many ways, it can become your greatest strength.
To help you start that journey, I created a course made specifically for ADHD brains. Inside, I break down ADHD in a way that’s easy to understand (even the parts that are usually ignored), and I give you simple techniques and tools you can start using right away to feel more focused, more in control, and more aligned with who you are.
Start there, and build your way up.
2. ADHD Coaching
ADHD coaching is when you meet regularly (usually once a week) with a coach who understands how your brain works. Together, you set goals, experiment with strategies, and find what actually helps you stay on track.
What makes coaching powerful is accountability. You’re no longer trying to figure it all out on your own. A good ADHD coach helps you stay focused, build momentum, and adapt your lifestyle in a way that actually works for you.
Just like the course, ADHD coaching is all about awareness, trial-and-error, and self-understanding. And once that clicks? ADHD becomes a strength, not an inconvenience.
I also offer one-on-one coaching.

3. Medication
Medication addresses the chemical side of ADHD. Most ADHD medications are stimulants that help regulate dopamine in the brain, boosting focus, motivation, and mental clarity.
But it’s important to understand that medication doesn’t fix everything. It can support your focus and help with stimulation, but it’s not a standalone solution. Lifestyle adjustments, coaching, and education are still key.
If you’re considering medication, speak with a licensed medical professional to learn about how it works, what the benefits are, and what side effects to expect—both short-term and long-term.
